MCC/Fulda CC teams Red Rock Conference Champions

The Murray County Central/Fulda once again claimed top honors at the Red Rock Conference meet this past Monday at the Slayton Country Club.

Morgan Gehl, eighth grade, cruised the sloping hills of the 5,000 meter course to cross the finish line in a fantastic time of 20:02. Gehl jumped out in front early and consistently stretched her lead through the race.

Ryanna Schrier finished in the seventh place spot claiming a time of 22:57 while Lissette Garza crossed in the line in ninth with a time of 23:43.

Emily Kathman earned a time of 24:18 followed by Khole Gehl at 24:19 and Josie Harms, 24:22. Oda Sigdestad finished out the race at 28:22.

The top ten individuals are recognized as medalists. Also finishing in the top ten and earning medals for the girls team were Ryanna Schreier, seventh grade, finished in seventh place. Lissette Garza, senior earned a medal for her ninth place finish.

Murray County Central earned the first place spot tallying 44 points with Southwest MN Christian coming in second at 51. Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin finished third (75), Adrian was fourth (84) and Heron Lake-Okabena fifth (102).
