Three young ladies are competing for the honor of representing the City of Fulda as Miss Fulda during the 2018-2019 year. Each contestant is a 2018 graduate of Fulda High School.

The Miss Fulda Pageant kicks off this year’s Fulda Wood Duck Festival which will be celebrated under the theme of Learning for a Lifetime. The theme is in honor of St. Paul’s Lutheran School’s 125th anniversary which will be celebrated Saturday and Sunday, July 14th and 15th.

This year’s Miss Fulda Pageant will be held on Wednesday evening, June 13th, at 6 p.m. at Fulda High School. Gym doors will open to the public at 5:45 p.m.

The Miss Fulda contestants will receive scores in the following categories:

• one-on-one interviews with each judge

• mentor – they will be escorted in by a mentor (non-family member) and they will each explain why they chose that particular person as their mentor

• expression outfit (not talent) – they will each dress in an outfit that they think describes them

• question – each girl will be asked the same question individually.  The question will be selected by the judges the night of the pageant.

Each of the girls will have an eight foot table that they have decorated with things that they feel summarize who they are.  The tables will be available for the public to see at the end of the pageant.

A reception in the cafeteria is planned following the audience’s congratulatory greetings to the royal court.

The candidate who is crowned Miss Fulda will receive a $500.00 scholarship. Miss Fulda Princesses will each receive a $250.00 scholarship.

Miss Fulda will participate in the 5K Run/Walk sponsored by the Fulda Community Club. Fulda royalty will also represent the city in several parades throughout the summer.

The public is cordially invited to attend the Miss Fulda Pageant which is being coordinated by Holly Rohlik.
