This year’s National Farm Safety and Health Week is being celebrated from Sunday, September 15th to Saturday, September 21st. The theme is “Shift Farm Safety Into High Gear”.
The theme focuses on the importance of safety on the farm as well as America’s rural roadways.
Since 1944, National Farm Safety and Health Week has been recognized during the third week of September. Because of the varied work, and machines necessary to accomplish that work, agriculture is known as one of the most dangerous industries in America and abroad.
The week is a reminder that it is everyone’s responsibility to prioritize issues that face the agricultural community, such as road safety during planting and harvest, tractor safety, safeguarding youth and communicating hazards.
