If you’ve driven by the Slayton and Fulda soccer fields this spring, you’ve noticed a sea of young soccer players practicing and comp
eting in the Murray County Soccer United program. Over 300 players in grades K – 6, 48 coaches, and 27 teams are participating in the spring 2016 season. The program was created 10 years ago and has shown double digit increases every year.
The existing youth league is structured for players to compete on teams from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Over the last few years, players and families have requested an expansion of the soccer program to accommodate the interest of players looking to compete after they “graduate” from the youth league. Currently, no soccer program is offered at MCC or Fulda High Schools.
