Pop Music from Around the World was the theme of Monday evening’s 4th Annual Indoor Marching Band Concert held at Fulda High School. The music was chosen so that the band could share several pop hits from the far corners of the world.
Under the direction of Matt Saxman, the Marching Band opened the concert with the National Anthem of the United States The Star Spangled Banner.
Next on the playlist was the Fulda Raider School Song to the tune of On, Wisconsin.
Kashmir was the next musical number. It was recorded by the English rock band Led Zeppelin in 1975.
Performing to the music of Kanye West, Bebe Rexha/Florida Georgia Line, David Guetta/Justin Bieber, Khlid, Ke$ha, and Thomas Rhett was the Flag and Rifle Squad. Their routine was choreographed by the squad captains.
99 Red Balloons was performed by the band. This song was recorded by German pop artist Nena in 1983. The song is an anti-war protest song which talks about the narrator’s dream of floating over the Berlin Wall from East Germany to West in order to escape the oppression of the former-Soviet regime.
