Little Mites
It was another great week for the Little Mites as they continued to stay unbeaten, going 2-0 on the week. Their record now stands at 5-0 with 3 games left in the regular season. In their first win this week, Fulda triumphed over Heron Lake, scoring in each of the 6 innings to win 12-0. The Raiders used 15 walks and timely hitting throughout the lineup to get the win. In the first, Jared Fischer continued his hot hitting this summer providing the RBI single to score Dillon Smith who drew a lead-off walk. The young Raiders pushed across two more runs in the 2nd as Torrin Clarke and Jacob Bertrand contributed base hits, while Jackson Kramer and Brenton Erdmann each drew walks. In the 4th the bats came alive again as Dillon started out with a base hit, Sam Goedtke and Keegan Spittle both walked to load the bases. After a fine play by Heron Lake at home, Wyatt Meyeraan then came through with a 2-run double to score Dillon and Sam. The Raiders scored two more in the 5th as Jackson and Jacob scored, after another Jacob single. In the 6th and final inning the Raiders scored 5 more runs as Dalton Dierks, Tyler Kirchner, Keegan and Sam each walked, and Dillon grounded into a fielder’s choice. Jared and Wyatt then hit a single and double respectively to win 12-0. Sam, Jared, Wyatt and Keegan each pitched well for the Raiders throwing consistent strikes and holding Heron Lake scoreless.
