1995-CALfeature obit-c.rossEN ROSS-2016

Calen Daniel Ross, also known as Rudy to many, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the age of 21.  He was born to Dean L. Ross and Tammy G. (Hieronimus) Ross on June 6, 1995, in Worthington, MN.  Rudy grew up in rural Fulda, from a very young age wandering the sloughs, creek bottoms, and fields around the acreage usually with a dog or two.

Rudy attended the Fulda schools, graduating from Fulda High School in 2014.  He married Lillian Rose Bolton on October 3, 2015, in Iona, MN.  They lived in Fulda, MN.  When he wasn’t working or hunting, he liked to hang out at Norm’s or at Boomer’s and Barritt’s or simply walking to the lake with Grit & Liz, his main Patterdales.

Rudy worked at various jobs including, construction, farm labor, and carpentry.  Hunting was his true passion and he was very serious to every aspect whether bow or gun, trapping or fishing.  Since a very young age, he had the knack of picking out a good dog or puppy.  He traveled the upper Midwest with his dad and others and won his share of State and Regional Dog Competition titles.  He didn’t care if it was a Canadian Cur, Hound, or Terrier.  He would get the most out of a good one, Rudy will be remembered by many as a true “dog man”.

Calen is survived by his wife, Lilly and son, Leonard Daniel of Windom, MN; parents, Dean and Tammy Ross of Fulda, MN; brother, Cody along with niece and nephew, Morgan and Jace of Fulda; grandparents, Gary and Marjean Ross of Reading, MN, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Doug White officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

The family requests that any hunting guests please wear your camoflauge.
