On Sunday, April 28th, the 8th Annual Heritage Country Show was held at 2 p.m. in the Fulda High School gymnasium.
Emceeing the show was Ted Winter.
Performing “Folsom Prison” was G. W. “Doc” Schwarz. He also sang “Always On My Mind” and “Amarillo By Morning”.
Paulette Whiteford sang “Happiest Girl in the Whole USA”, “Rose Garden”, “Sleeping Single in a Double Bed”, and “Funny Face”.
She also performed a duet with her daughter, Kalli Whiteford, entitled “Chapel of Love”.
Craig Borsgard performed “Help Me Make It Through the Night”, “Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground”, Blue Eyes”, and “On the Road Again”.
Kalli Whiteford sang “Bye Bye”, “Ten Thousand Angels”, “Before the Next Tear Drop”, and “I Already Do”.
“Keeper of the Stars”, “Come a Little bit Closer”, “Take Me Down” and “Miller’s Cave” were the numbers performed by Lloyd Winter.
Ann Witzel sang “Abilene”, and “Rocky Top”.
To conclude this year’s Heritage Country Show the group of performers sang “Tom Dooley” and “Happy Trails”.
The Heritage Country Show is a fund raiser for and sponsored by the Fulda Heritage Society. All proceeds from the Heritage Country Show benefit the Fulda Community.
Fulda Heritage Society has several projects that they have completed over the years. They include the restoration and upkeep of the Fulda Depot, the creation of the Veteran’s Memorial Park, the purchase of the “Fallen Soldier” statue, the placement of plaques marking historical site: cannon, bathhouse, Old Soldier and the Fulda Depot, the painting and care of the G. A. R. Monument at Prairie Hill Cemetery, the purchase of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Caboose for the Depot, and the new Fulda Heritage Museum building.
The Caboose and Depot have been toured by visitors from many states and countries including: Mexico, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Japan, and Canada, Oregon, Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota, Texas, Nebraska, Idaho, Mississippi, New York, Florida, Wisconsin, Montana, North Carolina, California, Arkansas, Rhode Island, Colorado, Georgia, Washington, North Dakota, Wyoming and Minnesota.
