Swenhaugen’s light display is holiday wonderland

Just to the south of Casey’s General Store, located on Third Street,  is a holiday wonderland filled with hundreds of lights and a variety of delights for all to behold.

Each year, Michelle Swenhaugen, whose favorite holiday is Christmas, begins preparing for the season by stringing outdoor lights. “I enjoy decorating the house for Christmas and my family loves it, too,” Swenhaugen commented. “We will have our family Christmas on Saturday here at my house and I am really looking forward to it.”

Each year, Swenhaugen and her siblings take turns hosting their family Christmas get-together.

“I don’t really decorate for too many of the holiday’s that we observe, but I will put something out for 4th of July and a little something for fall, but Christmas is when I do the most,” Swenhaugen stated.

On the east and west ends of her home, she hangs green lights to outline a tree, placing brightly colored lights within the tree shape. Other colorful lights outline the windows on each side.

The roof line is also decorated with lights that draw your eye to the top of the house where Santa, seated in his sleigh,  and pulled by Rudolph, waves a merry hello.
