1922-ELAINE ELTING-2016
Elaine Elting, the daughter of John and Charlotte (Ewy) Brust, was born on February 19, 1922 in Lime Lake Twp., Murray Co., MN near Avoca. She grew up on the farm and attended Dist. 37 Country School in Iona Twp. Elaine graduated from the Slayton High School in 1939 then attended Mankato State for one year. She then attended the Minneapolis School of Beauty Culture, graduating in 1941. Elaine then worked at a beauty shop in Wayzata, MN until 1943. She operated her own beauty shop in Fulda from 1943 to 1954. Elaine was united in marriage to Alvin Elting on June 15, 1947 at the American Lutheran Church in Avoca. After their marriage they lived in Fulda until 1979 when they moved to Pequot Lakes, MN for three years. While in Fulda they ran a bus service for 29 years. In 1982 they moved to Westbrook, MN and she worked in an insurance office. Alvin died in March of 1999. She moved to the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington in 2008. Elaine passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington at the age of 94. She was a past member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda and current member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook, where she enjoyed sewing days. She was also a member of the Fulda American Legion Auxiliary. Elaine enjoyed gardening, golfing, sewing and reading.
Survivors include her three daughters, Peggy Vesely of Coralville, IA, Barbara Formo of Granite Falls, MN and Mary Eshleman of Worthington, MN; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Paul and Earl Brust, her twin daughters in infancy and son-in-law Gordon Formo.
Funeral services were held at Totzke Funeral Home Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 with Rev. Bruce Berg officiating. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN. Send condolences online at www.totzkefuneralhome.com.

Dear Peggy, My sincere sympathies in the loss of your Mother. I was one who rode on one of those school buses your family owned. We always felt safe because your dad kept the ‘big kids’ controlled while we younger ones came and went. What wonderful memories we have of early school days!
