Lois Johnson was named as Dundee Post Mistress on December 7th. Previously she had served as assistant to Raymond Michelau, Post Master.

George Mallender passed away on December 19th at the age of 82 years old.

Ernest Beckman passed away at his home on December 18th at the age of 76 years old.

Donald Tainker passed away at the age of 56 years old on Monday after being in the hospital for five days.

A glimpse of the year of 1988 in Fulda, Minnesota includes Julie Kramer winning a gold medal at the State Track Meet; Nancy Overman won gold at the Hershey meet; Eddie Reusse grew a squamkin in his garden; and the Fulda Germany  band came to the Fulda Wood Duck Festival.

Early Deadline for the January 4th issue of the Fulda Free Press is December 30th.

Featured in Fulda High School Senior Profiles is Denae Herrmann, Ranell Beerman, and Jolene Ommen.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Troy Paplow, Ashtyn Baerenwald, and Daniel Hup.

Winter is HERE! Snow is on it’s way and their is approximately 5 inches of snow on the lake. Be careful out there.

With Christmas behind us and the year coming to an end it is to make a New Year’s Resolution. The most common resolution is the diet – however choosing the right diet is the trick!

Jerry and Louise Johnson won the overall prize for the “Lights of the Week” from the Fulda Women of Today chapter.

The Most Reverend Bernard J. Harrington will be formally installed as the seventh Bishop of the Diocese of Winona during a special liturgy at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona on January 6th.

Members of the Fulda Fish and Game Club of Fulda dug and transplanted spruce trees on RIM acres on the Moger farm on December 10th. The tree planting is part of a plan to enhance the wildlife area.

Fulda Raider boys lose a close game to Luverne over the Holiday break 53-50. The boys put up a good fight, tieing the game up at the half.

The Raider girls took second place in the Jackson Holiday Tournament December 21st defeating WWG and Blue Earth, and losing to LCWM.

St. Paul’s Lutheran School Pre-Kindergarten class held their Christmas pageant for Jesus birthday with the help of Pastor Jeff Grams for parents and guests this week.

Chad Meinert and Jenny Ackerman announce their engagement. A June 1999 wedding is being planned at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm, MN.

Dave Knigge and Jolene Ackerman announce their engagement. The couple plans a July 17th, 1999 wedding date in Fulda.

Dr. Jim and Lois Creech are the parents of a boy, Isaac born December 12th. Grandparents are James Creech and Alvin and Arlene Heintz.

Mark and Vicky Hakeneis are the proud parents of a new baby girl, Katy, born December 24th. Grandparents include Lucille Hakeneis and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Krueger.

Eleanor Kass passed away on December 25th at the age of 86 years old.
