Hoping to get their 3rd straight win, the Raiders played host to the Adrian Dragons. The Raiders shot themselves out early to a big lead, but Adrian’s pressure and ability to force turnovers in the second half allowed them to get back into the game and a Christian Weidert 3-pointer from the Dragons at the buzzer handed Fulda a loss, 74-73.
Sam Cheadle and Payton Marquardt each scored 17 points for the Raiders. Marquardt added 4 assists, while Cheadle added 5 rebounds. Cory Renneke scored 16 points and handed out 5 assists.
The Raiders found the range from distance early and were able to create a 6 point lead 4 minutes into the game. Renneke, Cheadle, and Marquardt were all able to find the distance, as the Raiders worked the ball around the Adrian zone and found some great looks. On the defensive end, the Raiders once again forced their opponents to move the ball around the perimeter and kept the ball out of the lane. Adrian found their shooter, Weidert, open in the corner on back to back possessions for 3’s and the Fulda lead was cut to 16-12. Tyler Madison (11 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists) was able to drive to the basket and get himself to the free throw line. Marquardt found Cheadle on the wing for a 3 pointer, while Logan Erdmann was able to collect a steal and Marquardt found Renneke streaking down the floor for a layup. The Raiders were able to extend their lead out to 20 at halftime. They led 49-29 at the break.
