An aggressive-playing Russell-Tyler-Ruthton varsity girls’ basketball squad utilized a fast-paced first half Saturday (January 12) on the big floor of Southwest Minnesota State University’s (SMSU) RA Facility in Marshall to post a very one-sided 81-28 victory over Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda.
The Knights opened up a huge 55-16 halftime lead and stretched the spread a bit more after intermission.
A total of eight girls scored for the Coyotes, who are now 0-13 for the season and will play at Ellsworth Friday evening, January 18.
Senior McKenzie Evers (six points, seven rebounds, one steal, one block) played a fine all-around game for HLOF, as did sophomore Morgan Gehl (six points on a pair of three-point field goals).
