The Fulda Fire Department responed to a garage at the home of Marvin Jansma that was gutted by a fire Sunday afternoon. A frozen gas line on a car was being thawed out when the fire ignited.
A fire of unknown origin burned the stock barn of the Lorence Gunderman farm northest of Fulda on Friday evening. The Fulda Fire Department was called to the scene. Lorence and his guest, Harry Appel, attempted to free the animals but the smoke and heat were too intense. Twelve milk cows and twenty-seven sheep were destroyed in the fire.
Dick Worden, 19, underwent surgery to repair a compound fracture of his left arm on Wednesday.
Nearly four hundred people registered at the Grand Opening of the Fulda Farm Store Last Saturday.
Harlod L. Buss has been elected to the American Angus Association in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Rites held on Wednesday for Mr. and Mrs. Kirchner’s infant who was born January 11th and passed away on January 13th.
John Tuseth, 53, passed away from a heart attack at his home on Sunday night, January 18th.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stover are the parent of a daughter born January 13th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Pete Kellen.
Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Bruns are the parents of a son, Clyde, born January 16th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Louie Bremer and Mrs. Irene Bruns.

Fulda Boy Scouts hold Pine Wood Derby. Receiving first place was Jacob Maertens, second was Tom Braun, third was Nate Olson and best Looking was Jason Horn.
Members of the Fulda Ambulance crew spent time teaching the Boy Scouts some of the techniques used when an emergency arises.
The Battle of the Goat Goes On…Fulda will host Slayton on February 4th and the following week Slayton will host Fulda. A team must win both games to claim the goat.
Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn Nursing Home include Henry Pollak, Irvin Erickson, Lillian Vosberg, Mary Hager, Pat Updyke, Mary Shea and Glen McGee.

The Fulda City Council discussed the placement of the new warning siren with the fire and police departments.
Ruth Koehler shares her memories in the quilts she creates – “A blanket is just a blanket, but a quilt is about people,” she states. “A quilt has a heart, a story.”
The Fulda Elementary School has had three separate gas leaks this past week. All three leaks were in the older part of the building. The first problem was a meter outside the building which had a bad pipe; the second incident included one of the two gas regulators on the outside of the building requiring a new regulator; the third leak involved the second gas regulator which was found to be defective, that too was repaired.
The Fulda School Board presented Ron Kirchner with a bell in appreciation of his six years of service. Preceding Mr. Kirchner on the school board is Darryl Sandhurst.
