Former Fulda wrestler named Section 3A Assistant Coach of the Year

Randy Schettler, a 1997 graduate of Fulda High School, has been named as the Section 3A Assistant  Wrestling Coach of the Year. Schettler is in his 16th year of coaching three sports  at Adrian Schools: football, wrestling and baseball.

He shared that this is the second time he has been recognized as the Section 3A Assistant Coach of the Year.

“I currently teach 6-8 grade math, but will be moving into the elementary Dean of Students position in July at Adrian Schools,” Schettler stated.

About being selected as the Section 3A Assistant  Wrestling Coach of the Year, he commented, “A tremedous amount of credit goes to the other individuals that I am blessed to work with on a daily basis, including fellow coaches, athletes, parents, and a very supportive community. I also owe a lot of credit to my parents  and the coaches I had while I was in athletics, as they paved the way and taught me the values of hard work and perseverance.”

Schettler is the son of John and Diane Schettler.

Talking about his family, Schettler said, “My wife Trina, and I have one daughter,  Brooke, and three sons, Cael, Keaton, and Kannen.  Without their ongoing support and sacrifice, the opportunity to coach would not be there, so I owe them a lot.”

The Adrian High School wrestlers ended this year’s season with an 11 to 15 record.
