Good information shared at the Farm and City Forum held in Fulda Tuesday with more than 100 farmers and businessmen in attendance. Topics ranged from raising hogs to land prices to legislation needed for better markets.
According to Murray County Sheriff Bill Neumann and Fulda Police Chief Emil Sell, a theft occurred at Reker’s Grocery where $180 was taken shortly after noon while the clerk was stocking shelves. The investigation is still in process.
Manfred Nelson passed away on February 28th at his home at the age of 68 years old.
Sad news for Peter Boomgarden who received a telegram on February 16th telling of the death of his father in Emden, Germany. On February 24 he received a second telegram with the news of his mothers death.

Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Dass are the parents of a son, Kevin, born February 18. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dass.
Mr. and Mrs. V.J. Montaleone are the parents of a daughter born March 4th. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Reusse are the grandparents.

The cast of the play “Harvey” will be performing on stage this weekend…don’t miss the show.
Due to a ruling by the Minnesota State Board of Education 54 schools were cited for having discriminative mascots, Fulda being one of them. A committee was formed and a new mascot is being sought. The word Raider may stay but the Indian head must go.
Pastor Clayton and family to leave Fulda for Missouri Parish.
Some rural Fulda postal customers will receive new box numbers to dispense the duplication of customer numbers.
Stacie Dirksen begins duties as 1989-90 FLA Region 11 President.

Mother Nature strikes again with snow and wind across the area closing schools for Monday and part of Tuesday.
Quilting bee to be held in honor of Malinda Beckman who passed away before finishing a quilt she started for her granddaughter, Michelle. The Quilt will be finished with the help of those who attend.
A two car accident occurred on highway 59 two miles south of Fulda on March 3rd. A 1994 Dodge Caravan was attempting to make a left turn when it was rear-ended by a 1989 Dodge Caravan. Both drivers were treated and released. Both vehicles sustained substantial damage.
“The Rubber Room” to be performed this week at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda.

Heidi Uttech was elected FLA/FHA Region 3 President at the Mid-Winter Meeting held in Ivanhoe on Monday. Both the Sr. and Jr. High Chapters brought home STAR Event competition trophys. Congratulations to all members.
The Fulda boys lost an overtime heart-breaker to a magical Edgerton team to end their tournament run. The sixth seeded Edgerton team also stunned Ellsworth and WWG in tournament play.
St. Paul’s Lutheran School 1st and 2nd grade students showed their love for Jesus by singing “Jesus Love is Bubbling Over” for their grandparents during the Grandparents Day program.
