Prairies, Rivers, Mountains and Skies was the theme of the Monday evening Fulda High School Spring Band Concert. Under the direction of Matt Saxman, the concert was opened by the elementary band playing “Spooks in Space” and “The Seventh Summit”.
Spring, from “The Four Seasons” by Antonio Vivaldi was performed by a flute ensemble.
“Genius”, “Cloud Dancing”, and “Paint it Black” were the songs that the junior high band played for their audience.
Mr. Saxman introduced the woodwind ensemble number by saying that the title of it is what we are all hoping to be rid of very shortly. Winter, from “The Four Seasons” was the number performed by this group.
The Senior High Band performed three numbers with the first two, “Prairie Dances” by David R. Holsinger, and “Follow the River” by James Swearingen, to be played for judges at large group competition on Tuesday in Pipestone.
The Senior High Band closed the concert with a rousing Russian Folk Song entitled “Meadowlands”.
