One of the most unique programs Nobles Cooperative Electric participates in is the CoBank “Sharing Success” Grant Program. The annual “Sharing Success” grant opportunity, capped at $10,000, is made possible by the cooperative’s board of directors, in partnership with CoBank – a national nonprofit cooperative bank owned by the rural American cooperatives it services, including Nobles Cooperative Electric.
CoBank established a $3 million fund to match charitable contributions made by its cooperative members. The matching grant program is designed to celebrate the vital role that cooperatives play in individual communities across the country. CoBank states that partnering with their customers to support worthy causes they care about is a great way for them to make a positive difference and fulfill its mission of service to rural America.
“Thanks to our board of directors and CoBank, the “Sharing Success” Grant enables Nobles Cooperative Electric to give back to the communities we serve,” said Nobles Cooperative Electric’s General Manager Adam Tromblay.
2018 was the second year Nobles Cooperative Electric awarded a “Sharing Success” grant to local non-profits. Applicants must be federally recognized as 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The Wilmont Fire Department received the grant in 2017 and the Fulda Fire Department in 2018. The Fulda Fire Department recently purchased an extraction tool that cuts and spreads. The new tool is much lighter, quieter and stronger. The battery operated tool allows for quicker response and allows the fire fighters to do their job more safely.
