Sebesta shares “Livin the Dream” with Cattlemen’s Association

If the 2019 banquet is any indication of what is in store Murray County Cattlemen’s group, it’s definitely on the move.

After the 2017 beef show Angie Ford felt the Cattlemen’s Association should have a bigger presence in Murray County. She reached out to a few others who showed beef. Together they gathered interest from others who raised beef and took the association, which had dwindled, and gave it new life.

Over 150 attended the 2018 banquet with 54 registered members. At Tuesday night’s banquet the group served 220 people and gained an additional 19 new local members. Additionally 17 new members joined the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. The group has purchased their own griller and has a team ready to cook up beef for any get together.

Ryan Verlinde, president, opened the program and recognized the board members along with special guests for the evening. Matt Widboom served as the master of ceremonies for the night. Newly elected board members include Ryan Verlinde, John Engelkes, and Ryan Vos.
