We have had only one week of spring and already it feels like life will get better. We might have to mow grass around the snowbanks but there is hope. Monday is April Fools Day and Mother Nature may have the last laugh. The birds and most wildlife have made it through a rough winter but it did take its toll. The migrations has started and will follow that age old plan to find nesting and propagate their species. The wonder never fails to amaze the watchers.
The frost went out of the ground this past weekend and things will improve from here on out. The inch of sunflower hulls will make good mulch for the flowers if any made it through the winter. There is that urge this time of year to dig in the ground and get plants ready for their bloom. I did add a new flower garden last fall that will be ready for new plants. I have Hostas and Day Lilies that need to be split and moved. There are several that need to be shuffled around the yard with the idea of having less lawn to mow.

A man was staggering home drunk in the early hours of the morning when he was stopped by a police officer.
“What are you doing out at this time of night?” asked the officer.
“I’m going to a lecture,” said the drunk.
“And who’s going to be giving a lecture at this hour?”
“My wife.”
