The Civic and Commerce has voted to keep all Fulda stores open until 9:30 on Saturday evenings.

The Fulda Symphonic Band, directed by Mr. Norrdin, have put Fulda on the map with their Solos and Ensembles performances at the State Regional contest.

Boy Scout paper drive will be held on Saturday.

The marriage of Betty Gilbertson and Kenneth Hildahl took place on Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Fulda.

Carol Beckman and Richard Marsh were married on Saturday at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington.

Mrs. Theodore Dierks observed her birthday with friends and family.

Pearce Bramel celebrated his birthday with family and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Jans celebrated their wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Chalres Hendricks fell on Tuesday while visiting the Zoo in Houston, Texas, She has been hospitalized with a broken right wrist.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Schoeberl wish to announce that eight-month-old Lance arrived on Friday to make his home with them.

Funeral services for Joe Tjalma of Dundee, whose death occurred Saturday, were held at the Reusse Funeral Parlor in Fulda on Tuesday.

Michael Golda, 16, passed away on Wednesday morning  after being critically ill for several weeks. Michael’s mother is the former Marie Wisdorf.

The funeral for Mrs. Emil Ramert was held on Monday.

Sheila McConkey won the Individual State Speech Championship this year in Extemporaneous Reading. She becomes only the second Fulda student to place earn the title of State Champion. In 1987 Scott Kuehl took the championship in Humorous Interpretation. Congratulations Sheila.

The State FFA Convention was held on the St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota this past week. A 1966 graduate of the Slayton High School, Tom Larson received the Honorary Chapter Farmer Award.

Vaccinations for pets offered at City Hall in Fulda this week.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Alicia Peterson, Jenna and Jeromy Goedtke, and Ryan and Paul Knorr.

Mr. and Mrs. Dallas (Tami) Rasmussen are proud to announce the birth of a son, Adam born April 26th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Larry Jorgensen and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rasmussen.

Carrie Fuerstenberg has take first place at three consecutive Karate tournaments since receiving her brown belt this past February. Carrie has taken Karate lessons for three years from Brian Koopman.

Katherine Johnson and Russell Widman announce their engagement. A June 3rd wedding is planned.

Sonya Ramerth and Jay Daniels announce their engagement. A May 20th wedding is planned.

Amelia Mary Ettel born April 27th to Margaret (Crowley) and Gary Ettel and passed away a bit later at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

John Schwartz, 67, passed away on April 23, 1989 at the Veterans Adm. Hospital in Roseberg, Ore. He was the brother of Irma (Schwartz) Schwantes.

The Fulda City Council heard from 13 residents who had questions on their property taxes.

The Fulda Police Department of Officer Mike Larock, Police Chief Jason Schulz, Officer Paul Kenney and Officer Tom Whitehead will kick off Celebrate Law Enforcement Week with their annual Safe and Sober Hog Roast on Monday evening.

The March of Dimes fundraiser event “Saving Babies Together” will begin with WalkAmerica in Worthington.

Featured in Fulda High School Senior Profiles this week are Denise Engen, Lateia Harvey, Ramon Luna Jr., Michael Rolfes, and Jason Stenen.

Cyril Fury “Mike” passed away at the age of 86 years old on April 30th.
