Fire Department answers six calls in a 24 hour period beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday; a grass fire at the Talcott Lake Reserve, a barn fire at the Fritz Brigger place, a grass fire at Bernard Odenbrett farm stead, back to the Brigger farm for a grass fire, a stove fire at the home of Amos Carlson, and a rubbish fire at the George Lober, Jr. place. Undoubtedly the firemen were happy to see the welcome rains putting an end to the very dry conditions of the spring season.
The Fulda Game and Fish Club installed a trap between the two Fulda lakes on Thursday to help remove rough fish. It has been determined the lake is overstocked with small bullheads. The removal of these fish will provide better conditions for game fish.
In a beautiful double ring ceremony on Saturday afternoon at First Presbyterian Church, Betty Gilberston became the bride of Kenneth Hildahl. The couple plans to make their home in St. Paul.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gets are happy to announce the arrival of a daughter, Patricia, born May 3rd in Slayton.
Mr. and Mrs. Leander Zins are the parents of a daughter, born April 30th in Worthington.

Miss Fulda to be crowned May 20th. Seven ladies vie for the honors; Sandra Boom, Teresa Brockway, Toni Jolhfs, Teresa Kass, Jocielle Kirchner, Sheila McConkey, and Kristie Probst.
The Swedsongs Orchestra (Skanepagarna) will be performing in Fulda on June 28 and 29.
Three candidates vie for Fulda School Board; Barb Bunkers, Kenneth Honius, and Douglas Stewart.
Jennifer Fuerstenberg and Jeff Towne announce their engagement. A June wedding is planned.
Jody Parker and John Brinkman were married on April 8th at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar.
Maxine Luehmann passed away on May 1st after a short Sioux Valley hospital stay of 12 days. She was 76 years old.
Allen Arends and Carol Dorpinghaus are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Stephanie born April 19th. Grandparents are Delano and Renee Dorpinghaus and Ed and Patty Arends.
Bill and Lorrae Lindquist are the proud parents of a son, Steven, born April 26th. Grandparents are Bill and Wilma Lindquist and Ed and Ann Balt.

Perry Loegering, DNR Area Wildlife and the Dundee Rod and Gun Club are creating a man-made woody cover area in West Graham Lakes Township. Natural grasses will help prevent erosion and evergreen trees will help cut down on weeds.
A glacier boulder 3 miles north of Brewster is used as a landmark by many travelers. Measuring 12 feet in diameter the rose-granite boulder is believed to have been carried down from Canada some 12,000 years ago.
