Bondin-Belfast 4-H Club makes blankets for Project Linus

Bondin-Belfast 4-H Club recently made fifteen blankets and donated them to the Worthington Project Linus   Funds for the blankets were earned through the club’s annual frozen food and fruit fundraiser and from Bingo at the Wood Duck Festival.

Brenda Wehking, who is a club leader along with Monica Kirchner, shared that it is the first time their club has made blankets for Project Linus. “At the beginning of each 4-H year, the members vote on goals for their club. One goal this year was to do at least four community service projects,” Wehking stated. “Making blankets was one of the service projects. They also hosted bingo at Maple Lawn Senior Care in April and will be helping with the Seven Mile Park beach improvement project.

The Worthington Chapter of Project Linus donates to Sanford  Hospital – Worthington, Sanford Hospital – Luverne and to the crisis center, as needed. We have been notified that some of our blankets were already given to the Sanford Luverne Hospital and the remaining will be going to the Sanford Worthington Hospital.
