Maple Lawn Senior Care Campus, Mapleview Estates Senior Living and Maplewood Court Assisted Living celebrated their annual Homes for the Aging Week Sunday, May 12th through Saturday, May 18th.
A host of activities had been planned to celebrate the week.
On Monday, The Dress-up Day was Rainbow Day where the residents and staff members dressed in all of their very favorite colors.
Residents got together to fold 1,200 Relay for Life Luminary Bags. Later in the day, a Worship Celebration was held with Pastor John Nau from Sold Rock Church.
Tuesday, May 14, the Dress-up Day was Floral Day.
Wednesday’s dress-up day was Decade Day. At 2 p.m. residents got together to do an inspirational craft and at 7 p.m. a drive-in movie, Field of Dreams, was played in the Chapel.
Thursday morning, Donna Getzel presented a musical program for the residents. Her program included the musical selections of “Have Thine Own Way, Lord “, “ John Newton & Amazing Grace”, “In The Garden”, “The Old Rugged Cross”,
“Singing In the Rain”, “April Showers”, “Beyond The Sunset “, and “Words from a Long Life Together”, the Alan Jackson Story, “When the Roll is called up Yonder”, and “God Bless America”.
Sandra Harmon provided music during Thursday afternoon. Team shirts were the dress-up day choices.
Hawaiian Day was held on Friday with a mystery activity at 2 p.m. and the Pink Ladies Birthday Party at 3 p.m.
Eight entries were submitted for the Tuesday, Flower Pot Contest. The entries included a tiny golf course, complete with golf balls and golf ball lady bugs. The grass was specially grown just for this entry into the Flower Pot Contest. This entry was placed by the office and administrative staff.
