Fulda’s Memorial Day program was held at 10 a.m. in the Fulda High School gymnasium. Lieutenant Colonel Aaron Cheadle was the featured speaker. He joined the United States Army in 1985 when he was a senior in high school. Cheadle plans to continue to serve until 2026.
Cheadle’s son, Sam, a 2019 Fulda High School graduate, was this year’s recipient of a Fulda Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9017 Essay Scholarship. He read his essay during the program. It is printed on page five of this issue of the Fulda Free Press.
Poppy Day Posters, created by Fulda Elementary School fifth grades students, decorated the walls inside of the Fulda High School gymnasium.
Pre-program parade activities were cancelled due to heavy rains.
