A beautiful day greeted veterans and volunteers as they visited the shores of Round Lake on Wednesday, June 5. The Second District of the American Legion and Auxiliary hosted an outing for veterans on the shores of Round Lake.
Mike and Ronda Sammons, owners of Eastside Acres campground, allowed the use of the campground as a thank you to the veterans, and assisted during the day.
Residents from the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne were invited to a day of fun, and many were transported to Round Lake by the Veterans Home. Upon arrival, volunteers helped the residents onto pontoons to cruise around the lake, enjoying the sights and relaxing or doing some fishing.
