In memory of Dale Ruesch

1935-DALE RUESCH-2019

Dale F. Ruesch , the son of Ernest and Gladys (Schumm) Ruesch, was born on February 5, 1935 in Seward Twp., Nobles Co., MN. He grew up on the farm and attended country school and Worthington High School graduating in 1954. Dale enlisted in the U.S. Army in January of 1955 and served in Korea until March of 1957 when he was honorably discharged. After his return, Dale was united in marriage to Elaine Beeck on August 23, 1957 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda. After their marriage they lived on a farm southwest of Fulda until 1964 when they moved to the family farm between Worthington and Fulda. Dale passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at his home in rural Worthington at the age of 84. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he had served as a superintendent of Sunday school, Head Elder and Trustee. Dale also belonged to the Lutheran Brotherhood, Gideon’s International and was a supervisor for Elk Township. He enjoyed photography, building things, trains, collecting coins and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Ruesch Worthington, MN; 4 children, Gayle (Stephen) Clark of St. Cloud, MN, Melanie (Gary) Fisher of Holdingford, MN, Greg Ruesch of Brewster, MN and Karen (LeRoy) Gielen of Avon, MN; 7 grandchildren, Kaden Ruesch, Paige Gielen, Amanda Gielen, Kimberly Haight, Samuel Gielen, Alexis Gielen and Ariel Gilbert; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Orville) Lundbeck of Slayton as well as nieces and a nephew, MN; sister-in-law, Ruth Ruesch of Sioux Falls, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Lloyd and Glen Ruesch.

Funeral Services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Fulda, MN at 1:30 PM on Monday, June 10, 2019 with Rev. Shawn Ethridge officiating.  The organist was Loretta Gehl. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN. Military honors provided by the Fulda American Legion Post 318 and VFW 9017.
