Mrs. Royal Osborne, librarian at the Coburn Memorial Public Library, wishes to announce having received six  volumes of Readers Digest Condensed books from Marjorie Martyn, Mrs. Margaret Downey also donated two books: Fire in the Water and The History of Nursing.

Judy Busch was chosen Queen at the Minnesota High School Rodeo held in Granite Falls this weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kremer are happy over the arrival of a baby girl, Wanda born on Father’s Day, June 21st.

Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Elskamp are the parents of a daughter born June 20th.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sauer Jr. are the parents of a daughter born June 18th.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones will celebrate their Golden wedding anniversary with an open house at their farm home on June 28th.

Margaret McCoy became the bride of Dell Goedtke on June 20th at St. Mary’s Rectory in Tracy with The Rev. Richard O’Connor officiating the double-ring ceremony.

German farmers are different according to Marilyn Ruesch who is traveling with the Wartburg College Choir in Europe. “The farmers live together in one big village, and each goes out to his land each day. No tractors just oxen and horses.”

Funeral services will be held for Herb Teintenberg on June 25th.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Knute Swenson whose death occurred early Thursday.

St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church is planning an appreciation on July 9th to celebrate the completion of the church renovation.

Community Ed Director Mark Woitalewicz is settling into his position in Fulda with ease.

The Fulda School Board meeting has busy agenda for June.

A son, Dylan was born to Doug and Peggy Dittes on June 17th.  Grandparents are Don and Ella Thomson and Don and Harriet Dittes.

June Koehn passed away on June 18th at the age of 68 years old.

Selma Amundson passed away on June 23 at the age of 86 years old.

Mary Bakke and Paul Jans announce their engagement. An August 12th wedding is planned.

Maynard Larson, representing the Church Council of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Avoca, presented a plaque to Albert Speckmeier and his wife, Ida for over 40 years of faithful service as a Head Usher.

Margaret Popp, representing the First National Bank of Fulda, presented a book “Banking in America” to Kathleen Zieske, Fulda Librarian.

Sophia Hein was recently notified that she will be installed as the VFW 3rd District Auxiliary President on June 26  in Rochester, MN at the VFW Auxiliary Department Convention.

Wilmont to celebrate 100 years as a community beginning on July 2.

The Iowa National Vietnam Veterans Traveling Memorial will be in Wilmont for the 1999 Centennial celebration.
