The old alleys are out.. and four new alleys and automatic pin setters are being installed at Lanoue Recreation. The pool tables will be moved to the south side to make room for the bowling lanes on the north side. It is expected the new lanes will be completed by August.
Work is also progressing on the steel quonset the Farmers Co-op Commission Co. is having built on Highway 59, near the Pederson Stock Yards.
Last week the Fulda Fire Department was called to the Jerry Ramerth farm, where a tractor was on fire. Shortly after noon Thursday, they were called to extinguish a rubbish fire in a ditch near Lime Creek.
The ladies of the First Presbyterian Church will host a Flower Show on July 8th. Finding flowers for the show proves challenging this year as the weather has not been favorable for flower growth.
Donald L. Beckman was ordained on Sunday at Pfingsten Church.
G. J. Kolander was stricken last Wednesday as he passed away unexpectedly at his home in Slayton. Mr. Kolander was 69 years old.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones note Golden wedding anniversary with an open house on June 28th.
Fulda July 4th fire works sponsored by the Fulda Civic and Com. Assn. after the Tracy Bulldogs and Fulda Giants game at Memorial Park…free popsicles for the kids!

A Scandinavia group called The Swedsongs came to Fulda, sang their songs, made many friends and left with a better understand of rural America. All in attendance enjoyed the old fashion foot stoppin’ dancing music.

The Fulda girls softball team took second place in the Edgerton Tournament on Monday.
Fulda Little League had a good week Defeating Adrian 10 to 3 and Edgerton 6 to 5.

Helen Zins passed away on July 2nd at the age of 85 years old.
Stanley Foster passed away on June 30th at the age of 97 years old.
Raymond Wollenburg passed away on February 2nd at the age of 78 years old.
Douglas Hartlep passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64 years old on July 2nd.
