As a culmination of her year as Second District American Legion Commander, Cindy Brunk helped to unveil the new soft serve ice cream machine at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne on Sunday.
One of the special projects the Brunk promoted throughout the year was the purchase of the ice cream machine, for the residents and their guests to use and enjoy. Funds were raised and donations made and the machine is now in place at the Home.
Many area Legion members gathered on Sunday afternoon in Luverne as the machine was unveiled. Residents at the home and the family members also gathered to celebrate, and enjoy the rainy afternoon indoors, with a cup of ice cream.
Activities Director Duane Mabon introduced Brunk, who recognized the veterans, residents and Legion members in attendance before unveiling the machine and serving ice cream to all of the guests.
