Sunday, August 4th is the day for the Heger Family Reunion that will bring together 65 people with some of the family members coming from as far away as Hawaii. Others will be attending from the states of Oregon, Florida, Oklahoma, Colorado, Illinois, and, of course, Minnesota. It has been fifteen years since this family has gotten together for a reunion.
The reunion will be held at the home of Loren and Lana Heger, Dundee, Minnesota. They have lived on the Heger family farm for 60 years.
“All of the people who will be attending are descendents of Loren’s grandparents, Columbus and Amelia (Fried). They purchased the land in Section 10, Soutbrook Township, Cottonwood County on July 5, 1886 for $300 per acre,” Lana stated.
The Heger family is proud of their heritage and the fact that they can gather for the reunion on the farm where their descendents first settled.
