The paired athletic programs of Fulda High School and Heron Lake-Okabena High School, known as the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda Coyotes, will join together for a “Meet the Coyotes” night on Monday, August 26.
A meal, featuring two Chicago-style hot dogs, chips, a bar and a drink — for $6 — will be served at the parking lot between the Fulda High School and Alex Fisher Field beginning at 5 p.m.
Then at 6:30 p.m., the action moves inside to the FHS gymnasium where the newly-paired volleyball program will participate in what’s expected to be an intensely-competitive, evenly-matched, intra-squad scrimmage.
At 7:30 p.m., Coyote fans can move outside again and watch a youth football scrimmage between members of the Minnesota Youth Football League (MYFL).
A varsity football scrimmage — under the lights — concludes the evening with a scheduled 8:30 p.m. start time.
Come on out and enjoy a great meal — with the fund-raising proceeds going to the Coyote volleyball and football programs — and get a pre-season look at the HL-O / Fulda combined sports teams.
The volleyball team’s first match is Thursday (August 22) vs. Worthington at Okabena, while the football team’s first game is at Fulda (the following Thursday, the 29th) against Hills-Beaver Creek.
