Four Warrior girls ran in the 4,000-meter junior varsity (JV) race at Mountain Lake and five young gals competed in the 2,000-meter junior high event, giving MCC / Fulda a total of 16 girl participants.
Freshman Megan Bakke won the 36-finisher JV event, completing the course in a time of 20:46.6, 14 seconds faster than the second-place runner.
Sophomore Chelby Kesteloot finished third (21:23.4), junior Meline Dernoncourt was 21st (25:18.8) and senior Kenzie Granum covered the distance in a 26th-place time of 25:59.7.
Eighth-grader Lily Daniels paced the Warriors to a fifth-place team finish (109 points) in the junior high race. Daniels placed 12th overall (eighth in the team scoring) among 53 finishers with a time of 9:31.6.
Completing the scoring for MCC / Fulda (8-16-26-29-30) were eighth-grader Lindsey Hause (22nd, 14th, 10:17.3), eighth-grader Jayda Hellewell (38, 26, 11:27.3), seventh-grader Courtney Gengler (42, 29, 11:39.1) and seventh-grader Sophia Nelson (46, 30, 11:56.4).
Fairmont (1-2-3-4-21) had the first four complete-team finishers and won the girls’ junior high team title with a low score of 31 points.
The Warriors are running in the 18-team Panther Invitational on the Tracy Golf Course this week on Thursday, September 5.
