A highlight moment for the Coyotes came in the middle of the match, during the third game, when sophomore setter Elly Bang reached a milestone by putting up her 1,000th set assist of her varsity career, which began two seasons ago as an eighth-grader.
“That’s a super accomplishment,” declared Rhubee about Elly’s 1,000 assists. “She’s been a steady performer as a very reliable varsity setter for us the past three seasons. Elly plays well in both the back row and front row, as she does a great job of setting up our hitters.”
For the match, Elly contributed with 32 set assists, 16 digs and was 10-of-11 serving with a trio of aces.
Junior hitters Hailey Liepold (18 kills, 18 digs) and Meakin Bang (11 kills, two blocks) were forces at the net for the Coyotes, who also had a pair of blocks by senior middle hitter Maddie Ruesch.
Eighth-grader Marissa Becker again played w ell in the back row, coming up with 15 digs for the Coyotes.
