Fulda Lions provide KidSight Vision Screening Program during preschool screening

Fulda Lions provided  KidSight Vision Screening during Friday’s preschool screenings held at Fulda Elementary School.

Lions KidSight USA Foundation is a nationwide program to safeguard the vision of children, concentrating on kids aged 6 months through 6 years.

Southwest Minnesota  District 5M-3 Lion’s International members currently have four photoscreeners that they are passing among the clubs to help provide vision screenings for preschoolers.

“5M-3 has led a multiple-state area in vision screenings,” Fulda Lions member, Marv Isder stated.  “Testing shows that typically 7 to 15 percent of children are referred to an optometrist for further testing.  The cameras that we are using can give a vision result in one second of time. If someone is already wearing corrective lenses, we test them with those lenses on.”
