As he has been doing most of the season, senior Lukas Stapek ran a fine cross country race for the Murray County Central / Fulda varsity boys as the Warriors competed in the seven-team BOLD Invitational at Olivia last Thursday, October 3.
Stapek led MCC/F with a 10th-place finish, running the flat 5,000-meter course in a new personal-record (PR) time of 18:39.56.
Junior Maverick Beckmann was the team’s second finisher, entering the chute less than 11 seconds after Stapek with a 14th-place time of 18:50.09.
The rest of the Warriors finished close to each other, led by junior Isaiah Kathman (31st overall, 29th in the team scoring) with a time of 20:42.0. Sophomore Adrian Schwaller ran his best race of the season and was MCC/F’s fourth varsity finisher (35th, 32 points), clocked at 21:02.56. Sophomore Rylan Engelkes (36, 33, 21:10.89) completed the Warriors scoring, while sophomore Ryan Risacher (37, 34, 21:14.81) and junior Dante Damm (38, 35, 21:25.81) backed up the team’s first five by sticking right with Schwaller and Engelkes as the Warriors had four guys finish in a row.
