Murray County Central/Fulda Girls Cross Country team was in Northfield, MN, on Saturday for the Minnesota State Class A girls’ state cross country meet. They placed fourth in the competition.
The Warriors entered the competition as the state’s third – ranked Class A girls’ team.
Fulda High School junior, Morgan Gehl, brought home the gold when she won her first state championship, leading by more than 27 seconds, with a time of 17:53.5.
MCC’s freshman, Ashley Overgaauw’s time was 20:02.3, and freshman Amanda Overgaauw was at 20:03.8.
MCC eight grader, Brylei Schreier was timed at 20:34.8 and Fulda sophomore, Ella Stapek at 21:22.0. MCC sophomore Ryanna Schreier’s time was 21:47.0 and MCC junior, Josie Harms at 21:55.9.
The Warriors won seven meet titles this fall, including the Red Rock Conference and Section 3A team championships. Their fourth-place finish is out of 16 teams who competed.
