Dan works for New Vision Coop in the Brewster Office.
Dan became involved in the Fulda Area Community Club many years ago. He is currently serving as Vice President and was President in 2008 & 2009. He has served as a Board Member for 10 years – (Cumulative total).
Fulda Area Community Club Committees Dan has been involved in include: Chair Person for the Fulda Wood Duck Festival Committee but enjoys helping with all of the FACC activities and events.
“I enjoy volunteering and helping to promote the City of Fulda,” commented Dan. “It was a way to spend time with friends and work together in various Community Club activities.”
“My favorite event is the Fulda Wood Duck Festival,” he continued. “When you step back and watch people during the festival, it is both heartwarming and priceless to see the smiling faces of both kids and adults enjoying the carnival, parade, and many other activities. Even though I may be biased, I sincerely believe that the Fulda Wood Duck Festival is the BEST Summer Festival in Southwestern Minnesota!”
When asked…How do you feel it impacts Fulda? …Dan stated –
The FACC promotes the many positive things that the Community of Fulda has to offer. The FACC impacts Fulda by providing events that encourage people to visit and enjoy what our city has to offer. The FACC can be the vehicle that provides cooperation, harmony, and growth between the various age groups of our community – you get to know your neighbors better! Our Mission Statement, which the Board of Directors updated this year, really says it all “To make Fulda a better place to live now and for the generations to come.”
Dan encourage everyone’s involvement.
Being a member of the FACC is both rewarding and satisfying. It just plain feels good to work with others with the goal of making a project or event successful! The more people involved – the easier and more enjoyable it is!
It is a GREAT way for parents to teach their children about volunteering and community involvement. Kids helping Mom & Dad sell t-shirts, festival buttons, carrying boxes for exhibitors at the Fall Craft Sale are all super ways of leading by example! Seeing the smiles on their faces as they pitch in and help, the young people also enjoy it!
How Can Others Help?
By bringing new ideas and suggestions, the FACC events can be improved and made even more successful!
Just an hour or two of volunteering to help makes the job easier for everyone, and trust me, helping will make you feel GOOD and can result in new and lasting friendships! If you feel like you don’t have the time to help plan and work at our events, your support by attending and participating is also a way of helping to improve the quality of life in Fulda. As an old commercial used to say “Try it, you’ll like it!”
