Penalties for Duininck discussed during commissioners meeting

The Murray County Commissioners held a brief meeting on Tuesday, November 26th. No one was present for open forum. Donations were accepted from Alan T and Chu Leversedge ($20.00) and Lake Shetek Community Church ($300.00) for the End-O-Line Park.

Commissioner Welgraven shared his concerns regarding handling the fact that Duininck hadn’t completed their county road projects on time due to weather conditions and the amount of money that they incurred as a result. Administrator Thomas Burke and County Engineer Randy Groves were instructed to discuss the situation.

Ditch repair petitions from CD46, JD03, and JD 14 were all approved.

Administrator Burke discussed holding work sessions in 2020. The board all felt this was a good idea. Commissioner Gunnink asked if Gary Weiers, consultant with DDA Human Resources, Inc. could possibly be a part of one of these sessions and maybe give insight to the commissioners how to navigate the new structure of Murray County now that there is an administrator in place. The first work session is set for January 29, 2020 with Weiers present.

The recess was taken by the commissioners until 5:30 p.m. when they reconvened for a public hearing the 2020 drainage levies.

Jeff Meyer was present for the ditch levy hearing and asked what is in the plans for CD 22 (levy of $4,702) and JD20A so as to arrive at the proposed levies.
