Kindergarten through sixth grade students of Fulda Elementary School will take the stage on Monday, December 9, at 7:00 p.m. to present their annual Christmas concert. Under the direction of Ms. Carolyn Beerman, this year’s concert is entitled “Let’s Make It Shine!” The theme of the concert will focus on the various lights we associate with Christmas and how they can impact the world in a positive way. The audience will be treated to a variety of familiar carols and songs as well as newer music written specifically for elementary-aged students.
Kindergarteners and first graders will join to sing “I Am Like a Star”, “This Little Light of Mine”, “Hanging on the Tree”, and “Christmas Lights”. Second and third graders will present “Sing We Now of Christmas”, “Christmas Jubilation”, and “Let It Shine”. The fourth, fifth and sixth graders will open and close the concert with “Let’s Make It Shine”, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, “Silent Night”, and “Candle of Peace” medley.
In addition to the vocal pieces, the fifth and sixth grade band, under the direction of Mr. Matthew Saxman, will play two selections: “Tyrannosaurus Rock” and “Christmas Mash-up March”. A brass/percussion ensemble and a flute/vibraphone ensemble will also be heard as they accompany two of the vocal selections.
The public is invited to come and kick-off the holiday season with an evening of music sure to light up your heart with joy. There is no admission for Monday’s 7:00 p.m. concert. The elementary gym doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
