Getting scoring contributions from six players, including a combined 25-point performance between Jaeden Strandberg and Logan Erdmann, the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda B-Squad boys’ basketball team won its fourth straight game Tuesday, December 17.
Playing at Granada, the Coyotes defeated the Truman / Martin Luther / Granada-Huntley-East Chain Jaguars by a final score of 43-31. HLOF held a 21-16 halftime advantage and then outscored the Jaguars by a 22-15 spread after intermission.
Strandberg, a junior guard with lots of explosive quickness, finished the game with 13 points. Erdmann, a slick-moving sophomore forward, drilled a pair of 3-pointers and netted a total of 12 points.
Juniors Paul Salentiny (seven), Matt Madsen (four), Gage Freking (four) and Dylan Freking (three) combined to score HLOF’s remaining 18 points, helping the Coyotes improve to 4-2 for the season.
Like the varsity, the B-Squad also participated in the Candy Cane Classic at Westbrook last weekend (December 20-21), playing games against Minneota and Lakeview. Details on those two contests will be mentioned in next week’s paper.
