After a record setting mild December with RAIN on Christmas Day, the weather man decided to change tactics. Inclement is the name for it as temperatures drop to 20˚ degrees below zero on Tuesday morning, just 5 days into the new year.

Amidst a setting of white and yellow mums, Miss Janice Beckman became the bride of Burton Levine on January 3rd.

Henry Olson rites held Monday in Dundee. Mr. Olson was 81 years old.

Louis Kirchner rites held Thursday afternoon in Avoca. Mr. Kirchner passed away following a heart attack at the age of 71 years old.

Dinosaurs are in this year! Or at least four college boys think so – which is why they spent their Christmas vacation packing snow into a 12 foot tall dinosaur at the ball diamond. The boys include Bill McNeal, Tim McNeal, Paul Greenfield and Kirk Johnson.

Fulda Boy Scouts collected old newspapers for the ‘newspaper bedding test’. The papers were used as bedding livestock helping to reduce dust and odors.

Bonnie and Glen Brunewald open American Health and Fitness in Fulda.

Longtime Fulda Businessman, Albert Speckmier passed away on December 27th. Mr. Speckmier established the Fulda Farm Store in 1958 and operated it for 17 years until he retired in 1975.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Laura, Sarah and Becky Thompson; Allyson, Ashly and Daniel Baumgard; and Mathew, Annette and Amanda Kremer.

The unusually warm weather during the month of December allowed farmers in the area to perform some out-of-season work. At the Harold Fischer farm tile was laid to relieve pressure on existing tile by the Robert Springman Tiling company.

The public is invited to comment on the proposed Lime Creek hog farrowing site to be located near Fulda now through January 25, 2000.

The Gary and Judy Holden home was chosen as the overall winner of the Fulda Women of Today’s “Lights of the Week” contest.

Governor Jesse Ventura announced his Blue Highway Bus Trip from Willmar to Waseca with a stop in Fulda on January 11th.

The Fulda Fire Department was called to an out-of-control garbage fire which quickly moved to a pickup near by. The fire on the Dave Vortherms property destroyed the pickup.

A lasagna supper will be held to raise funds for Relay for Life on January 11 at the Fulda Community Legion Hall.

Fulda Game & Fish Club will hold it’s 46th Fish-A-Rama on January 14th.

Kim (Evans) and Mike Clayton announce the birth of Austin born  November 24th. Grandparents include Lorraine and Jim Clayton and Bev and Dale Evans.

Edna Christians passed away at the age of 87 years old on December 30, 1999.

Ruth McGee passed away on December 28, 2019 at the age of 85 years old.

Mildred Pallesen passed away on December 29, 1999 at the age of 100 years old.

Six year old Chad Knapp received a football from Vikings Randy Moss.
