Outscoring the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen 35-20 in the second half, the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes captured an impressive 59-49 victory in a Red Rock Conference high school girls’ basketball game last Friday night (January 3) in Edgerton.
Trailing 29-24 at halftime, the Coyotes — aided by a total of 11 made 3-pointers — put together a big second half and claimed their second win of the season (2-9 overall, 2-4 in league play).
“We got into a nice groove on both ends of the floor in the second half,” Coyotes head coach Andy Oakland said. “Chrissy Hermeling and Faith White each hit some big 3s for us, Morgan Gehl attacked the basket very well, and we rebounded much better in the second half. This was a nice win for us.”
