The Murray County Commissioners held their first meeting of 2020 on Tuesday, January 7th. As part of protocol, a new chair and vice-chair are chosen during the first meeting to preside over the meetings for the remainder of the last. On Tuesday Dennis Welgraven was nominated to take over the chair duties. Votes were cast for both Dave Thiner and Lori Gunnink to serve as the vice chair with Thiner receiving three votes and Gunnink two.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and the commissioners gave their nod to approve the ditch bills along with commissioner warrants. Approval was also given for the 2020 appropriations directing Auditor/Treasurer Heidi Winter to pay at the appropriate times. Winter was also given the authority to approve certain claims throughout 2020 that don’t match up to meeting times.
