Murray County Commissioners – Jurrens resigns as dispatcher

The Murray County Commissioners held their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 21st. Amongst the initial agenda items were the approval of the commissioner warrants and ditch bills. No one was present for the open forum.

Heath Landsman appeared before the board with information regarding the state snowmobile grant. Murray County was awarded compensation up to $3,809.00 for each year – 2020 and 2021. The board approved accepting this grant. He also shared the annual sheriff contracts with the Cities of Dovray, Currie, Iona, Hadley, and Chandler to provide law enforcement protection. Landsman said all of their new computers are in and installed with exception of the two desktops.

Amy Rucker, clerking the meeting, shared at the last meeting there was some question regarding Southwest Public Sector Collaborative – Insurance. According to Rucker County Administrator, Tom Burke, says the Southwest Public Sector Collaborative consists for Southwest Health & Human Services in the Counties of Benson, Chippewa, Lyon, Murray, Redwood, and Swift. It was formed to provide a means for member organizations to collectively obtain the services of a third-party administrator for management of each member’s self-funded health insurance plans and the acquisition of stop-loss and aggregate reinsurance. The Collaborative typically meets one time a year in Lyon County. Commissioner Welgraven was appointed to this committee with Dave Thiner as the alternate.
