Jumping out to a quick 19-10 lead, the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes came ready to play against one of the best teams in the state and maintained that intensity throughout the first 18 minutes of a Red Rock Conference high school boys’ basketball game with Southwest Christian last Thursday night (January 30) in Edgerton.
SWC, which is ranked fourth in Class A and is currently 18-0 overall and 10-0 in the conference (first place), rallied to tie the score at halftime (44-44) and then put together a huge second half to capture a 25-point victory (103-78) over HL-O/F.
“We played an awesome first half,” Coyotes head coach Colby Pack said. “We played up-tempo and went toe-to-toe with them, leading for almost the entire first half. That was a very fun half of basketball by our guys.”
