Shooting 13-for-23 from 3-point range, the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes matched basket for basket with the highly-regarded Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey Wolverines in a Red Rock Conference high school boys’ basketball game last Tuesday night (January 28) in Fulda.
In the end, the Wolverines made a few more plays in the second half and prevailed with an exciting 84-75 victory to improve to 13-2 overall and 7-1 in the conference (second place).
“The only reason we didn’t win this game is because we played a really good team who matched us shot for shot,” Coyotes head coach Colby Pack said. “We shot the ball very well (26-for-51 overall, 51 percent) and we outrebounded them (33-28). The one difference in the game may have been turnovers, as we had 15 and they only had five.”
