Beermans volunteer in Guatemala

With a heart for missions on their home front, Daniel and Linda Beerman, Iona, recently expanded their volunteerism to the country of Guatemala.

The decision to make the journey, and lend a helping hand, was fairly easy for the Beermans as they are acquainted with volunteer missionaries Bruce and Susy Ahlberg. The Ahlbergs serve with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). Bruce is currently the director of  YWAM Antigua, Guatemala and has been working in Guatemala since January of 2000. He directs the Discipleship Training School, Spanish Summer School and Outreach, Bible Distribution, Soul Patrol and the overall operation of the YWAM base.

Susy’s primary ministry is interpreting the Word of God from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.

Bruce’s brother, Bernie Ahlberg, and his wife, Sandy, are members of the Worthington Christian Church, where Dan and Linda are also members. Each year, Bernie and Sandy make a journey to Guatemala to lend a helping hand at the Antiqua Mission. This year, the Beermans traveled with the Ahlbergs on their mission trip.
