MCC C-boys dominate first half in 45-27 win over Coyotes

Murray County Central’s C-Squad boys’ basketball team dominated first-half action against Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda at Slayton on Friday, February 14, earning an eye-opening 34-4 lead on the Coyotes — after once leading 29-1.

HLOF put six players in the scoring column and battled back well in the second half, outscoring the Rebels by a 23-11 spread to slice into MCC’s large advantage.

Mason Bode was the leading scorer for the Coyotes, notching 10 points (a pair of two-point field goals and four-of-five free throws). Logan Gass (six), Tim Salentiny (five), Preston Christoffers (three), Evan Madsen (two) and Ethan Gilman (one) shared HLOF’s remaining 17 points in a balanced second-half performance.

A free throw by Gilman and a three-pointer by Christoffers accounted for all of the scoring by the Coyotes in the first half.

HLOF’s C-Squad boys’ basketball team has a season record of six wins and nine losses.
