A five-point halftime lead (27-22) disappeared in the second half of the final game of the 2019-2020 season for the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda B-Squad boys basketball team in a battle with Hills-Beaver Creek at the HL-O gymnasium in Okabena last Friday evening, February 21.
The visiting Patriots worked the ball inside effectively after intermission and outscored the Coyotes by a 35-20 spread to earn a 57-47 victory, putting HL-O / Fulda’s final record at 14-11.
H-BC scored 12 two-point field goals and made 11-of-12 free throws in the second half. The Patriots were 13-of-16 (81 percent) for the game from the line, including going a red-hot 92 percent in the final 14 minutes.
The Coyotes, who drilled nine 3-pointers in the game, shot just six free throws (making four of them for 67 percent).
